NEW YORK - Union Theological Seminary welcomes Robin Reese as Vice President of Communications and Marketing. Reese will be responsible for public relations, marketing, digital strategy, and internal communications.

Reese joins Union from Emory University where she served as director of communications for the Emory Brain Health Center where she managed all communications planning and strategy, as well as media relations and crisis communications. She also worked closely with the Marketing lead to build integrated plans aimed at growing volume and increasing awareness. Reese joined Emory in 2013 and initially served as part of the Woodruff Health Sciences Center team providing multimedia strategy, executive media training, and media relations.

Prior to Emory, Reese spent more than two decades as a broadcast journalist, working at ABC News and NBC News. Her last role at ABC News was southeast bureau manager where she led editorial coverage and managed teams of correspondents and producers for “Good Morning America” and “ABC’s World News Tonight with Diane Sawyer”. Previously, Reese was a producer covering a wide range of stories from Hurricane Katrina to presidential campaigns to the start of the Iraq War, which she covered from the network’s London bureau. She began her journalism career as a desk assistant in the Washington Bureau for NBC News.

“I am pleased to have Robin join our senior leadership team,” says Rev. Dr. Serene Jones, President of Union Theological Seminary. “As a seasoned communications professional with experience in both higher education and journalism, Robin will be a great asset to Union as we embark on advancing new programs and initiatives and helping to build on Union’s great legacy.”

Reese holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She will begin at Union on Sept. 7.
